This home was in risk of losing an additional 10-20 feet of bank (from the top) caused by the heavy rains in 2020, existing soil conditions becoming saturated and sliding off from the top. Due to the nature of the soil conditions it was determined th at a gabion wall would be the strongest and best use for this repair. Gabion retaining walls come in many different styles and shapes . This wall was built with large baskets designed to offer maximum support and strength. Each basket was filled with 3-5 inch crushed limestone - each gabion basket was individually wired together, and wired to each other. All the basket material is galvanized which will nearly prevent rust and decay from the metal.
